GCC Senior Advisor and accomplished businessman and author James McGregor has offered Insights newsletter recipients a completely free PDF copy of his new publication, No Ancient Wisdom, No Followers especially for GCC members!

James McGregor is pleased to share with you a copy of his latest publication, No Ancient Wisdom, No Followers: The Challenges of Chinese Authoritarian Capitalism. McGregor was previously the Beijing bureau chief of The Wall Street Journal and then chief executive of Dow Jones’s operations in China. He is also a senior counselor for APCO, based in Beijing. McGregor has lived in China for more than two decades and is the author of the 2005 bestseller One Billion Customers: Lessons from the Front Lines of Doing Business in China.

This publication offers an insightful analysis of China’s current economic system, one which McGregor describes as “authoritarian capitalism,” and the significant challenges it poses towards China’s continued growth and economic prosperity. The publication examines the limitations of a state-owned enterprise model, and offers constructive commentary on how China will need to reform in order to continue with its extraordinary economic development.

We hope you will find No Ancient Wisdom to be a fascinating read. If the study triggers questions about the business environment in China, we’d be happy to assist.
