Dear members of Tufts GCC,
Tufts GCC is excited to welcome TWO delegations of select student leaders from China’s two elite universities to visit Boston next month. We will be hosting both delegations along with our colleagues at Harvard GCC and MIT GCC.
The first delegation comes from Peking University. Their visit is a part of an annual exchange program called the Global View Initiative, and the team consists of 16 select undergraduate students who come to experience American universities and interact with our students. They will be staying with us from Friday February 3rd to Saturday February 4th.
The second delegation comes from Tsinghua University. The 17 delegates in this group are older, and include mostly graduate students and upperclass undergraduates. The students in this delegation all hold important posts at Tsinghua’s Student Council/Union and the Communist Youth League, and most are expected to go on directly to become cadres in the Party. They will be staying with us from Wednesday February 8th to Thursday February 9th.
WE ARE OFFERING YOU THE RARE OPPORTUNITY TO MEET AND INTERACT WITH THESE STUDENTS, and we will be hosting various social mixers and academic panels with these delegates. Now, we want you to help us host them during their stay here.
I have attached the information of the delegates below. You may choose to host only one of the delegations, although we would really prefer that you host both. To sign up, please fill out this short form.
Thank you very much for your enthusiasm and participation, we look forward to these two EXCITING events. Please do not hesitate to email us at tufts@gccglobal.org should you have any questions.

Dear Alumni and Friends of GCC,
Happy new year of the Dragon!
Since inception, GCC has grown from a handful of chapters to a global network spanning over 70 chapters. All this couldn’t be possible without your individual efforts and belief in the organization’s mission: “Building Relationships that will Change the World”.
As GCC continues to grow in scope and influence, so has the number of GCC members graduating university and starting careers around the world. The GCC Alumni Association was founded to engage GCC alumni while maintaining and strengthening the bonds of friendship that were fostered at the university level.
In anticipation of an eventful 2012, the New York City Alumni Association invites you to its Kickoff Party on January 20, 2012 at The Rubin Museum of NYC. Come join us for a festive Friday night and meet members from across the GCC network! Please note that admission is $10, which includes 1 drink and hors d’oeuvres will be provided. Please find event details on the attached invitation and RSVP to wynne.lam@gccglobal.org as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
Wynne Lam — 林敬恺

This year, we explore how the 2012 leadership transitions in China and the United States. The symposium is broken into four panels: Military Security, Diplomacy and Engagement, Economics and Business, and Law Development and Environment.
This is Tufts GCC’s headline event of the year, and will mark our first major conference event since our founding in the winter of 2010.

The GCC Feed Aggregator: The Future of Connecting
Hey everyone! My name is Sahil Khatod and I am the Director of Media at GCC management. Over the last year, many chapters have begin actively updating their own wordpress blogs, and management has been reading up on all of these to stay connected with what chapters are working on. It has been absolutely fantastic to stay connected with everyone.
So we decided-- why not make this feed aggregator of chapter blogs a part of how GCC members stay conncected.
Introducing: The Feed Aggregator
Letter from the President: GCC's Year, Our Year - Part One
Dear Global China Connection,
This is GCC's year, this is our year. Between now and September 2012, GCC makes the leap from student group into global institution. From San Diego to Beijing to Toronto to New York, every single event and new friendship we create is getting us there. But we can't do it individually. To make that leap successfully, GCC Management will become an effective leader for our chapters and members in the long term. This is the first of three letters in which I will outline our plan to do that this school year.
The strength of GCC lies in its individual chapters and the energy, enthusiasm, and hard work that goes into producing the many events held year round by them. This section highlights some of the impressive and inspiring work being done by a handful of highly active GCC chapters.
GCC - Western OntarioDespite being in its first year, the Western Ontario Chapter has already prepared an exciting and full schedule of major and casual events for this coming school year.
To list a few, they will be holding multiple networking seminars, etiquette sessions, as well as developmental workshops. All of these event will culminate in a networking event planned for later this school year. They will be hosting GCC’s first ever Canadian annual conference in Toronto, Canada, and their chapter will be traveling to New York City in the spring to attend the annual Columbia University Conference.
For more on the Western Ontario chapter and their impressive activity, check out their website.
