The GCC Feed Aggregator: The Future of Connecting
Hey everyone! My name is Sahil Khatod and I am the Director of Media at GCC management. Over the last year, many chapters have begin actively updating their own wordpress blogs, and management has been reading up on all of these to stay connected with what chapters are working on. It has been absolutely fantastic to stay connected with everyone.
So we decided-- why not make this feed aggregator of chapter blogs a part of how GCC members stay conncected.
Introducing: The Feed Aggregator
Dear Global China Connection,
This is GCC's year, this is our year. Between now and September 2012, GCC makes the leap from student group into global institution. From San Diego to Beijing to Toronto to New York, every single event and new friendship we create is getting us there. But we can't do it individually. To make that leap successfully, GCC Management will become an effective leader for our chapters and members in the long term. This is the first of three letters in which I will outline our plan to do that this school year.
The strength of GCC lies in its individual chapters and the energy, enthusiasm, and hard work that goes into producing the many events held year round by them. This section highlights some of the impressive and inspiring work being done by a handful of highly active GCC chapters.
Despite being in its first year, the Western Ontario Chapter has already prepared an exciting and full schedule of major and casual events for this coming school year.
To list a few, they will be holding multiple networking seminars, etiquette sessions, as well as developmental workshops. All of these event will culminate in a networking event planned for later this school year. They will be hosting GCC’s first ever Canadian annual conference in Toronto, Canada, and their chapter will be traveling to New York City in the spring to attend the annual Columbia University Conference.

Hey Members,
In February, Global China Connection held the first annual China on the Move conference in order to illuminate how China's growing influence around the world will effect everything from the environment to the global economy. Below are some links to the keynote speakers that are really worth checking out.

Hi GCCers,
I hope that during the upcoming year we can fundamentally shift how big things in GCC are accomplished. In three to four years, GCC will have more alumni than members. Current management and all of our current members will graduate and be succeeded by an entirely new generation of GCCers. For these alumni and future members to continue our mission and keep our organization strong, we must ensure the experiences and friendships they build through GCC are truly transformational.
General "China conferences" and networking cocktails helped GCC grow very quickly in our early days. They are also pivotal in order to gain traction and legitimacy at the chapter and regional levels. However, from a global perspective these events have limited the returns to our mission. We can do even more.
