August 1 -- Yesterday, Global China Connection (GCC) hosted “Realizing the China Dream,” a day-long conference at Peking University in Beijing. This event was GCC’ s second annual forum in China, and featured a diverse array of industry leaders with considerable expertise regarding the development of entrepreneurship in China. Our distinguished guests included:
- Ernst and Young Managing Partner Edward Ho
- Microsoft China Research and Development Director of Operations David Lin
- U.S.-China Energy Cooperation Program Executive Director Sabina Brady
- Caterpillar China Chairman and President Zhu Jiming
- Forbes Beijing Bureau Chief Gady Epstein
- CB Richard Ellis Asia President and CEO Chris Brooke
- Allen Overy Managing Partner Peter Thorp
- Air China Vice President and North America General Manager Dr. Chi Zhihang
These distinguished voices spoke to an audience predominately composed of Western and Chinese students along with some professionals. Many of the speakers tailored their messages specifically to meet the expectations and interests of students, most of whom seek to work in China upon graduation. GCC was also proud to welcome representatives of the microfinance organization Wokai and the China Education Initiative, a non-profit group that provides educational services to needy children in rural China. Hope to see you at our next conferences (April 2011 in New York, July 2011 in Beijing)!
