New York, NY (Sept. 1) - Over the past three months, Global China Connection has been actively engaged on a wide variety of fronts.

SUMMER 2010

In July, GCC co-hosted a Shanghai Global Youth Forum with top Chinese universities and student organizations as a parallel venue for young people side-by-side with the World Expo.

In June and July, GCC-Harvard hosted two conferences -- one in Beijing and one in Guangzhou -- which explored the changing nature of corporate social responsibility and social entrepreneurship in China. The series was titled A Focus on China.

At the end of July, we hosted our annual China conference at Peking University, Realizing the China Dream, drawing distinguished guests such as Caterpillar China Chairman Zhu Jiming and Air China Vice President/North America General Manager Chi Zhihang.

In August, our Summer 2010 delegation concluded with visits to the Beijing offices of multinational firms such as IBM and Ogilvy. Earlier in the summer, we visited companies in Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Shenzhen. This delegation will be recounted in detail in a subsequent post.

FALL 2010

GCC is planning a similar series of events for the coming months. We eagerly await multiple delegations from Peking University and Tsinghua University (including both universities' Student Unions), whom we will host in the U.S. We also plan to host an insightful forum in November focused on China's recent efforts at environmental protection and encouraging sustainable development, entitled "China's Challenge: Developing Sustainably."
