Office of The President

Name: Daniel TedescoDaniel Tedesco
Institution: Drexel University
Biography:

I became interested in China through philosophy. I was a huge dork in high school and fell in love with 老子. I studied at Peking University and came home to help found the Drexel University Chapter in 2009. Later, I worked to restructure GCC Management, and am currently President for GCC. I'm also on a Fulbright Fellowship in Chongqing studying 大学生村官.  Every week, I try to meet five new people, run 10 miles, read five articles about things I don't understand, and remember how grateful I am for everything I have.

Why did you become an officer?

I became an officer because I wanted to turn GCC from a student club into a global institution that meaningfully and positively affects China's relations with the rest of the world for decades to come.

Why did you become an Officer?:

I began an officer in order to get a better understanding of how GCC operated as a network and do my best to make our internal communications and dialogues as exciting as possible. I think that the media team's focus on managing multiple platforms from the Facebook page and the website to the Global China Review allows our members to dialogue in really exciting ways. It is a phenomenal way to feel part of the strengthening relationship between the United States and China which is going to become central to the functions of the economy as a whole. GCC's importance in that process is evident through the size of our networks and the scope of our member's initiatives.
