Tour for Tsinghua-University Students

During January in 2010, GCC organized and planned the US trip for the Delegation students from Tsinghua University. Within the two- week trip, they visited various top American universities such as Harvard University, Columbia University and corporation headquarters at NYC like JP Morgan.

Winter GCC Delegation trip in Beijing

The winter GCC Delegation trip is a fifteen-day trip organized by GCC to stimulate the idea and cultural exchange between young professionals and students in China and the US. During the trip, Delegation members experienced their winter in Beijing and earned more insights about the development of China. There, they visited several multinational corporations such as JP Morgan, Microsoft, UBS, etc. Meanwhile, they were also welcomed by Chinese local corporations such as CCTV, Ping An, Everbright Bank, etc.

Harvard College GCC Conference

A Global China Connection Conference Series Hosted in Partnership with the Students’ International Communication Association (SICA) at Peking University and the Student Union of Sun Yat-sen University. A distinct cross-section of speakers comprising pioneers and trend-setting representatives for innovative corporations, universities, foundations, government agencies, NGOs, think tanks, and social enterprises throughout China and the United States delivered remark.

Global China Connection Summer Delegation Hangzhou

During the summer of 2010, GCC Delegation visited Hangzhou for three days. The trip contained a intellectual visit to Zhejiang University (浙江大学), a meeting with Lt. Governor of Indiana, and an international Book Salon. Through these events, delegation members were able to meet a lot of new people and exchange ideas about international affairs there.

“Realizing the China Dream” at Peking University 

Global China Connection hosted the “Realizing the China Dream” summit at Peking University. This summit was an all-day event and GCC’s second annual China conference. Featuring a wide array of professionals with decades of experience in China’s emerging market, the conference shed light on one of the main drivers of the PRC’s recent economic growth and social maturation: a new entrepreneurial spirit. Our speakers and panelists charted the rise of the Chinese entrepreneur.

GCC Princeton Conference Hosts "China On the Move"

Featuring keynote speakers Steve Forbes (Editor and CEO of Forbes Magazine), Founding Chairman of JP Morgan China Peter Lighte, and Chairman of Fortune China Thomas D. Gorman, the event brought together GCC members and other attendees from Ohio, Georgia, upstate New York, and even Canada and Hong Kong for a great time.

Third Annual GCC Conference at Columbia University

"China on the Global Stage" is Global China Connection's third annual U.S. conference. This forum will analyze the PRC's development from an exclusively global perspective: charting the worldwide impact of China's foreign policy, capital markets, environmental protection standards, and legal system.

GCC's Third Annual Asia Summit in Beijing

With over 350 students represented by over 50 of the world's finest institutions, GCC's Third Annual Asia Summit: Cultivating Tomorrow's Leaders officially wrapped up in Beijing on the 10th of this month. With the help of the well-recognized GCC brand we were able to effectively attract speakers from the following institutions: Hill & Knowlton, Credit Suisse, Mesirow Financial, KPMG, Goldstone Investment, APCO Worldwide, Bain Capital, Beijing University, Tsinghua University, English First, Lenovo, China Consulting, Qualcomm, Ogilvy, Nielsen, PWC, Dorenfest Healthcare China, BCG, United Family Hospitals and Clinics, and Sidley Austin.

Then GCC President Daniel Tedesco introduced GCC to Hilary Clinton and Liu Yandong

On May 4th, President of GCC Daniel Tedesco delivered a speech in Chinese at the U.S.-China High-level Consultation on People-to-People Exchange which included Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, State Councilor Liu Yandong (the highest ranking female politician in China), Ambassador Gary Locke, and a crowd of 200 high-level business people and government officials.

Fourth Annual Asia Summit

On Saturday, July 7th, Global China Connection hosted its 4th Annual Asia Summit at the Yingjie Center at Peking University. Over 250 student leaders came from as far away as Birmingham, Alabama to discuss issues relating to China’s transformation into a world power. The Summit consisted of two keynote speeches - John Holden, Hill + Knowlton Strategies and Jack Lee, Lenovo - and four panel discussions on Youth, Education, Health Services and Media.

The second Canadian Convention

The second Canadian Convention was held on Saturday, January 26th. The University of Waterloo and University of McMaster joined the previously established chapters of Western, Queen's, Wilfred Laurier, McGill and the University of Toronto this year, with students from non-chapter schools such as Ryerson and York also in attendance. The theme of 'Breaking Barriers Between Canada and China' was highlighted by various references, including Chinese going to Canada to do business and subsequent opportunities -- a challenge to the notion that 'doing business with China' requires a move to China.

5th Annual GCC China Summit in Beijing

Global China Connection’s 5th Annual China Summit took place on the weekend of July 6th and 7th at Peking University in Beijing. With the theme of "China's Coming of Age: Aspirations of the New Generation", the conference drew people from around the world to review challenges and opportunities with China, as well as its relationship with other countries. Saturday's agenda focused on expert speakers and panels discussing various aspects of China’s development, as well as two informative keynotes by China experts Paul Haenle and James McGregor.

The 2013 Global China Connection US Summit at Harvard University

The 2013 Global China Connection US Summit took place on October 12th and 13th at Harvard University, with more than 150 delegates from over 25 universities across the US and Canada in attendance.
On Saturday, the theme of the Harvard Global China Connection’s 3rd annual fall conference this year was "Business Expansion in China". On Sunday, the Global China Connection US Annual Convention offered GCCers an opportunity to reunite and discuss the development of the organization and also participate in interactive workshops on entrepreneurship, and career development.

Spring 2014

GCC partnered with DCSF

Spring of 2014, GCC partnered with DCSF in order to expand GCC presence in Europe.DCSF was the first partner organization of GCC and as such will promote GCC locally in Denmark and throughout Europe.

2016 Annual GCC Summit at New York University

The Summit's full day of processions began at the TKP Conference Center in Times Square, New York City. We were honored to have lots of insightful guest speakers such as The Hon. Kevin Rudd, former Prime Minister of Australia, Processor Chong'en Bai at Tsinghua University, WATG architects Sean Harry and Xiaomin Li, and the famous actor LiuxiaolingTong. We held four panels discussing deeply about issues related to finance, business, art and politics.

5th annual China Summit

On April 9, 2016, Emory Global China Connection hosted the 5th annual China Summit. This year, the summit involved students from diverse backgrounds coming together to set up and improve a mobile payment business in China. Moreover, this year we had the honor to invite four professionals as the judges of the event, including Jun Wang, Lun Peng, Jessie Chen, and Andrew Barnett. They all had extensive experience in the mobile payment business though come from diverse industries.

GCC at JHU hosts inaugural conference on U.S. - China relations

The Hopkins chapter of Global China Connection hosted a regional conference focusing on the rise of China, the domestic and international challenges that the Chinese communist leadership faces and the changing geopolitics of the East Asian region. The six-hour event featured experts in international studies, geopolitics and international affairs as well as student research presentations. The conference took place on Saturday in Hodson Hall.

GCC World Summit

This annual GCC World Summit discussed China's growing power and responsibilities in the world as well as a broad range of issues from economics to culture. We brought together young professionals from universities around the world and experts in the field to facilitate meaningful and constructive decisions on these topics, sharing new perspectives on prevalent critical issues. We brought together leaders in academia and business, successful entrepreneurs, and outstanding university students for a conference that helped build meaningful relationship that last well into the future.

2018 GCC Global Summit "China's Transformation: A Decade of Innovation"

In collaboration with chapters from Columbia University and New York University, Global China Connection presented the 2018 GCC Global Summit with the theme, "China's Transformation: A Decade of Innovation." GCC this year was trying to tell the stories of China’s new generation of entrepreneurs, exchange views on the growing foreign investment of China in the United States, and discuss the shifting focus of Chinese politics on the global stage.

2019 Global Summit at the George Washington University in Washington D.C.

GCC presented the 2019 GCC Global Summit with the theme, "Under Pressure: Sino-U.S. Relations on the Threshold." Under the political climate, we aspired to facilitate timely discussion on the challenges and prospects of the U.S.-China diplomatic and trade relations, and explored the opportunities in business and entrepreneurship.

2020 GCC China Summit

On August 15th, 2020, GCC Yale-NUS chapter hosted the "2020 China Summit", which included panel discussions on Technology, Finance, and public health. The summit invited Al Schamma, founder of Smart Solutions International, to discuss trending topics in technology such as digital banking; and Hsu Li Yang, an infectious diseases physician, to share insights into the implication and aftermath of COVID.

GCC Boston University Chapter hosted Entrepreneurship Networking Event in Shanghai

On November 29th, GCC Boston University Chapter hosted an Entrepreneurship Networking Event in Shanghai. The event provided an opportunity for interested college students and young professionals to exchange entrepreneurship ideas, hear from experienced entrepreneurs such as Shaoquan Hou, founder of Panopath, and Yutong Gao, recipient of 2017 Forbes China "30 Under 30".
